HOMES AND LIVES BEFORE PROFITS AND WARS
We demand rent regulation, housing for all, and an end to speculation
Why is housing so expensive?
When we learn about our rights as tenants and unite, we can stop the endless cycle of exploitation and speculation.
Rents keep rising
In Copenhagen, rent rose 40% for the cheapest apartments, just in the last 7 years.
No shortage of living space
In 2022, Copenhagen commune found 17,000 empty residences. Still they claim there is a shortage, justifying private speculation.
Large rental companies
Large companies, such as DEAS, Heimstaden, and City Apartment, dominate the rental market in Copenhagen. They demand large deposits which are rarely paid back.
Know your rights!
Short term contracts are generally illegal. Unless the landlord can prove that they are travelling for work or studies.
Know your rights!!
Rent is regulated in apartments built before 1992. If the apartment has been renovated after that, it is still regulated, although the price can be raised according to the condition.
“Instead of fighting each other to find a roof over our heads, let’s fight together to establish housing for all”
